“At the beginning of second grade, Kai was assigned a project to learn about his name. He learned that his name, Kailer, meant warrior. And Kai meant little warrior. The following week he was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, a pediatric kidney cancer. We decided "Warrior Kai" was the perfect name for him to fight "Count Dooku," which is what we named the tumor before surgery to remove it.
Kai beat cancer and continues to be cancer-free! Proving he truly is a warrior! He plans to write a children's book to help those with a new diagnosis, a comic book for teens, and wants to do big things within the cancer community."
